Custom Jewelry Design Process
What is custom fine jewelry? Custom fine jewelry is jewelry made specifically for you, rather than mass-produced. Each piece is designed from scratch using your choice of metals, gemstones, and design details. Custom fine jewelry allows for complete personalization, resulting in a one-of-a-kind piece crafted to your style, preferences, and budget.
How does the custom jewelry design process work? Our custom jewelry process begins with a consultation where we learn more about you and your preferences. From there, we will sketch some designs and create a very detailed proposal. We ask for a 50% deposit to order in the materials and place you in our queue.
Do I need to know exactly what I want before starting a custom jewelry design? No—you don’t need a finished idea to begin. Our custom jewelry design process is collaborative, and we guide you through every step, from inspiration and reference images to stone selection and final design approval. Many clients start with just a concept or feeling in mind.
What types of custom jewelry does Forge Gone Conclusions make? We create custom engagement rings, wedding bands, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and redesigned heirloom jewelry. Each piece is made to order and tailored to your specifications, whether you’re designing a statement piece or a meaningful everyday item.
Can Forge Gone Conclusions redesign or recreate existing jewelry? Yes. A portion of our business specializes in heirloom jewelry redesign, transforming existing pieces or gemstones into modern designs while preserving their sentimental value.
Can I use my own diamonds or gold for a custom piece? In many cases, yes. We carefully evaluate client-provided gemstones or metals to ensure they are suitable for use in custom fine jewelry.
Is Forge Gone Conclusions’s custom jewelry handmade? Yes. Every piece is handcrafted using a combination of traditional jewelry-making techniques and modern technology. Check out some of our videos to watch how we are making the pieces.
Will my custom jewelry look exactly like the design? Because each piece is handmade, slight variations may occur. However, we ensure the final piece closely matches the approved design and meets our quality standards.
Can I order matching jewelry later? Yes. We keep detailed design records, allowing us to create matching or coordinating pieces in the future.
Pricing & Payments
How much does custom fine jewelry cost? Custom fine jewelry pricing varies based on design complexity, metal choice, gemstone selection, and craftsmanship. We provide a detailed quote before production begins, so you know exactly what to expect.
Are there any hidden fees? No. All costs are disclosed upfront in your custom jewelry quote.
Does Forge Gone Conclusions require a deposit for custom jewelry? Yes. A 50% deposit is required to begin the custom jewelry process, with the remaining balance due before delivery.
What payment methods does Forge Gone Conclusions accept? Overall, we accept major credit cards, bank transfers, and cash. Payment options may be further limited based on individual projects and dollar amounts. Payments are detailed out in each individual proposal.
Can custom jewelry be returned? Because custom fine jewelry is made to order, all sales are final.
Does Forge Gone Conclusions have written terms and conditions? Yes. Our terms and conditions outline our policies, timelines, and responsibilities for custom jewelry orders. These are detailed out on each proposal as well as the invoices for payments.
Does Forge Gone Conclusions use secure payment processing? Yes. All payments are processed through our 3rd party accounting system.
How long are quotes good for? Quotes are typically good for 10 days. Due to volatility in the metals market, we do reserve the right to requote any time before a deposit is paid.
Do prices change after a deposit is paid? No. Once a deposit is paid, we order in materials in about 1-3 business days. That way, the price is held for the duration the project is in our queue of materials.
Can I cancel a project after a deposit is paid? Unfortunately, no. Because we order in materials very shortly after the deposit is paid, we are not able to cancel any projects.
Can I modify the design after a deposit is paid? Unfortunately, no. Once a deposit is paid, both the design and material pricing is locked in.
Time Frames
How long does it take to make custom fine jewelry? Most custom fine jewelry pieces take between 4–8 weeks from design approval to completion. Timelines may vary depending on design complexity, gemstone availability, and production details.
Can custom jewelry orders be rushed? We work on a first come, first served basis. If you have a specific deadline, please contact us as early as possible to discuss the feasibility of your project.
Shipping & Delivery
How is custom jewelry shipped? All jewelry is shipped discreetly, fully insured, and carefully packaged to ensure safe delivery.
Will I receive tracking information? Yes. Tracking details are provided once your custom jewelry ships.
Repairs & Restorations & Recreations & Repurposing
Does Forge Gone Conclusions offer jewelry repairs and maintenance? Yes. We offer a wide variety of repair services including resizings, half shanks, head replacements, stone replacements, arthritic solutions, and more.
Does Forge Gone Conclusions perform restorations? Yes. We can bring pieces that have been worn and damage back to a “like-new” state.
Can Forge Gone Conclusions recreate a lost or missing piece? Yes. If you have a picture, sketch, or something similar, we can recreate lost or missing jewelry pieces.
Can Forge Gone Conclusions repurpose existing jewelry? Yes. We have done multiple repurposing projects using existing pieces that are either outdated, unloved in their current state, or pieces that were inherited and desire a look.
Warranty & Insurance
Does Forge Gone Conclusions offer a warranty on custom jewelry? Yes. We offer a 30-day craftsmanship warranty that covers manufacturing defects only.
Does Forge Gone Conclusions offer insurance on custom jewelry? Because we are not an insurance agent or broker, we do not offer insurance on custom jewelry. Materials & Gemstones
What metals are used in custom fine jewelry? We offer sterling silver, 14k and 18k gold (yellow, white, and rose), platinum, and other fine metals upon request. We have also been known to work with other non-traditional materials on a case-by-case basis.
Does Forge Gone Conclusions use ethically sourced diamonds and gemstones? Yes. We prioritize ethically sourced gemstones and responsibly mined or recycled precious metals whenever possible.
Does Forge Gone Conclusions offer natural and lab-grown stones? Yes. We offer both natural and lab-grown diamonds and gemstones. We can help you compare options based on appearance, durability, sustainability, and budget.
How do I choose the right gemstone for custom jewelry? We guide you through gemstone selection based on factors such as durability, color, size, budget, and how the piece will be worn. Our goal is to ensure your piece is both beautiful and practical for everyday wear.
How do you guarantee the authenticity of gemstones? All gemstones are sourced from trusted suppliers. Our primary supplier has one of the highest (if not the highest) standards of quality control and technology in the industry.
Do you provide diamond or gemstone certificates? Yes. Certifications for large center stones are provided for qualifying diamonds and gemstones and are disclosed in the proposal.
Are your metals stamped or hallmarked? Yes. All precious metals are properly stamped or hallmarked according to industry standards.
How does Forge Gone Conclusions ensure quality control? Each piece is photographed carefully upon completion and pictures are sent to each customer before payment is requested and the piece is delivered.
How does Forge Gone Conclusions verify ethical sourcing? We work only with suppliers who meet our ethical sourcing requirements and provide transparency in their practices.
Does Forge Gone Conclusions disclose gemstone treatments? Yes. Any treatments applied to gemstones are fully disclosed.

Are you a local custom jeweler or do you work with clients nationwide? We serve local clients as well as customers nationwide through in-person and virtual consultations.
Who designs the jewelry? All jewelry is designed by Aric, working closely with each client throughout the custom design process.
Does Forge Gone Conclusions have a certified gemologist on staff? No. We rely on our suppliers who have the expertise and sophisticated equipment to grade and measure all of our stones. Our primary supplier is well-known and very reputable throughout the jewelry industry.
What makes Forge Gone Conclusions different from other custom jewelers? We only focus on custom jewelry. As a result, we give you our undivided attention, a high level of custom service, and control the entire process from start to finish.
